My Labor Story - Happy Birthday Jaxson!

I finally went into labor on Sunday, April 6th after having what I now realize were probably super subtle contractions since that Wednesday! My Dr. had told me on Wednesday at my appointment that I could go into labor at anytime and he doubted I would need to be induced the following week so I went home hopeful and my mom actually decided to fly out early so she wouldn't miss anything. She got here early Friday morning and we spent the weekend waiting and hoping my little guy would come soon so Grandma didn't fly out a week early for nothing!
Sunday morning we woke up late, just in time to watch general conference at 11:00 and around 12:00 I started making pancakes. Halfway through making them I felt water leaking down my legs all over the kitchen floor. I told Preston, "Babe, this is super embarrassing...either my water just broke or I just peed all over the floor..." I really thought my overactive pregnant bladder had finally just failed me. I called my mom over and called the Dr. and he told me it sounded like my water and to come to the hospital. We packed up the last minute things for my hospital bag (the majority of it had been packed for weeks and weeks!) and drove over to the hospital where they confirmed it was my water and I was dilated...to a 2. I knew we were in for a long day!

I was checked into a room and started on a pitocin drip by 2pm. I still wasn't feeling any contractions at this point just the same random tightening and slight cramping. A few hours later I was only to about a 4 and a half and they said I might as well get my epidural before the contractions really started (cause they still really hadn't) so I did, I was so nervous for that huge needle in my spine that I got super tense and he couldn't get the needle to go in straight so that freakin' hurt! After I made myself relax though it went in and then the fun started. That numb feeling was seriously so weird for me, it came on so fast and I hated not being able to feel ANYTHING below my belly! It just kept getting more frustrating for me as the hours wore on cause even though I was glad to not be feeling the big contractions that now I was feeling as only shadows, the numbness was starting to get to me. Around 12:00 am the Dr. said I should be ready to push in about 2 hours and an hour and a half later I was fully dilated and getting prepped to push my little guy into the world! At this point I was shaking and shivering like crazy and freaking out cause I didn't know how I was gonna push if I couldn't feel anything, but after about 20 minutes of pushing my perfect little baby boy was born at 1:48 am on April 7th. He weighed 7 pounds 12 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long.

Seeing him for the first time was a beautiful and shocking moment, I couldn't believe he was here, and that all of him fit inside me, and that that perfect little baby was all mine! I'll always cherish that beautiful day, meeting my son and watching Preston meet his little boy. I was so immediately in love and have spent every possible minute since starting into, and kissing his perfect little face. I feel so blessed to have this little miracle in my life and can't wait to love him and watch him grow everyday for the rest of my life!

39 Weeks - 40 Week Picture

How far along? 39 weeks!
Total weight gain: 35 pounds
Maternity clothes? yup
Stretch marks? Nope
Best moment this week: Haven't had one yet! It will be if he decides to come outta me!
Miss anything? Not being pregnant. Having a flat belly, being able to lay on my belly, walking normal (without waddling!)
Movement: He's still super active! Last night I felt like he was trying to beat me up from the inside! Strong little guy! He's probably so squished, I keep telling him there's lots more room outside of the womb!
Food cravings: Not really...well I guess today I've been just wanting a big bowl of all types of fruit!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Still getting sick after dinner usually every night, yet another reason I can't wait for this to be over!
Gender: Boy
Labor signs: Weird random crampiness but nothing time-able or anything so its just annoying.
Symptoms: Always tired (can't sleep), aching legs and back, cramping, hungry, nauseous, constantly having to go to the bathroom
Belly button in or out? out
Wedding rings on or off? on
Happy or moody most of the time: gahhhh can you tell i'm not in the best of moods today? Haha just wanting him here already! I just know he's gonna make me wait another week, I'm betting i'll have to be induced next week.
Looking forward to: Having my little guy, not being huge and pregnant.

36 weeks

How far along? 36 weeks!
Total weight gain: When I went to the Dr. on Wednesday they didn't tell me the number but I don't think I gained any more than like a pound from what it said last time, so I'm still going with 30 pounds! Haha
Maternity clothes? Yup, the same like 5 shirts and 3 pairs of pants! Can't wait to get my old wardrobe back! And buy lots of new clothes once I lose my baby weight. I honestly don't see the point in buying tons of maternity clothes, and I don't understand women who do...unless you're super rich I guess, then right on. But really, spending tons of money on a whole wardrobe you'll only wear for a couple months? Makes absolutely no sense to me! I'd rather spend that money on baby clothes or an awesome wardrobe afterwards to reward myself for all that hell of pregnancy! Not to mention, I look and feel huge and gross anyway no amount of clothes would change that at this point. lol
Stretch marks? Nope
Best moment this week: My ultrasound on Wednesday! It was SO amazing to see him! She was able to get a perfect shot of his little face, and I got to see him opening and closing his eyes and mouth, he kept drinking tons of fluid she said and putting his little fingers in his mouth. Then we watched him get the hiccups (which happens at least 3 times a day haha) and he was just so active the whole time, kicking my ribs (like always) and moving all around. I wish Preston could have been there but he had to work, but I bought the DVD for $2 so he can watch it.
Miss anything? Peeing like a normal person :( my Dr. said his head is super low already and most likely has been for the past month which is why I've been having to pee literally every 5 minutes. Sometimes every 2 minutes. I can't imagine whats gonna happen to my poor bladder when he finally “drops” in the next few weeks cause I feel like he pretty much already has!
Movement: Literally ALL the time, I love it, except for when its a swift kick to my ribs. Preston thinks he's gonna be a handful since he already never stops moving haha we'll see!
Food cravings: Just junk food. But I don't give in too often actually. Now that all the Easter candy is out (which is totally my weakness even not pregnant) I had to buy a bag of the Starburst tropical jelly beans and a bag of the Reeses eggs! But to my credit I haven't even opened them yet! Weird I know, but once I do though you can bet they won't last long!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Food in general :( I threw up after every meal yesterday! I felt like I was back in the first trimester! I usually only get sick after dinners though. Can't believe I've been sick this whole pregnancy. It's not fair and I'm not sorry that I seriously hate women who aren't sick at all during their pregnancies. Kinda makes me want to punch things just thinking about it.
Gender: My little boy!
Labor signs: some braxton hicks but nothing regular or too intense...I almost wonder if they are braxton hicks or not haha
Symptoms: back pain, leg pain, nausea and vomiting, trouble sleeping, peeing all the time, and new to the list this week: feeling like I literally can't get enough oxygen, just sitting down or in any position! It's the most annoying thing, I start to feel pain in my neck and then I get kinda light headed until I change positions, usually only sitting up super straight for a while helps. Yeah fun stuff. My poor lungs are too cramped, along with my bladder...and all my other organs too I suppose
Belly button in or out? Out!
Wedding rings on or off? On!
Happy or moody most of the time: Haha oh man. Randomly moody and B*tchy one minute, weepy over nothing the next, happy after that and i've been getting overly anxious about little things...dang hormones are making me a crazy person.

Looking forward to: 4 more weeks! 4 more weeks! 4 more weeks! Just don't come too late is all I'm asking pleeeeaaasseeeee!!

33 Weeks!

How far along? 33 weeks!
Total weight gain: Finally went to the Dr. and I've gained 30 pounds! Fun news! haha
Maternity clothes? Yup can't even really fit into my regular shirts anymore unless their super stretchy!
Stretch marks? Nope
Best moment this week: Finally getting into the Dr. here! Relieved my stress a lot! He seems really nice and I already have all my appointments for the rest of the pregnancy scheduled! And I get an ultrasound on March 5th! Excited to get a little peek of my little guy!
Miss anything? Normal exercising! I can't even walk on the treadmill or go on a normal walk without literally almost peeing my pants. Every time! It's probably the most annoying thing ever. Who knew having a 4 ½ pound baby pressing on your bladder would make you feel like you need to be in diapers! Also miss not feeling sick every night..and sometimes during the day!
Movement: Tons of crazy movement! Seriously want that ultrasound to make sure he doesn't have an extra arm and leg in there! This week its actually started to hurt when he moves around a lot! He sticks his little hand or foot so far out or stretches so much I feel like my skin will rip if he stretches any further!
Food cravings: All the bad stuff. Lately though mostly just sweet breads like cinnamon rolls still but i've been good this week! I haven't given in and bought Cinnabon!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Basically every dinner. I always feel sick after dinner.
Labor signs: No...I think I may have had a few Braxton Hicks contractions this week though..but I can't be sure!
Symptoms: Tired, moody, fat, hungry, nauseous, leg and feet cramps, trouble sleeping cause I can't get a comfortable position with this huge belly!
Belly button in or out? All out!
Wedding rings on or off? Still on! Wondering when I'll swell up and won't be able to wear them anymore. My guess is sometime in the next 2 weeks.
Happy or moody most of the time: Moody...but not as moody as I was in January...I think i'm just bored sitting at home all day every day! I want my baby here already!
Looking forward to: It's funny as much as I do want him here though, and how much I'm counting down days and weeks, It's crazy to think if he comes even a week early it seems like so close! And then I start to get freaked out cause I wonder if I'm ready yet! It's like 80% of the time I just want him to come already and the other 20% I'm thinking 6 weeks....I can wait six weeks.

30 Week Update

How far along? 30 weeks
Total weight gain: still haven't weighed myself and haven't been able to get an appointment for almost two months so I don't know! But probably 20-25 pounds
Maternity clothes? Yup, jeans, but as I only have like four real maternity shirts, I wear normal ones too.
Stretch marks? Nope
Best moment this week: Whenever he's not sticking his little feet under my ribs! Haha
Miss anything? Still just regular exercising and laying on my stomach...and not having to pee every two minutes.
Movement: ALL the time! It's like he's trying to kick his way out sometimes I swear! And he gets hiccups a lot, at least once a day
Food cravings: Lately just sweets, today I want a whole pan of Cinnabon cinnamon rolls!!!!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Just nauseous almost every night after dinner...threw up a few times after dinner this week.
Gender: Boy
Labor signs: Nope
Symptoms: Leg cramps, peeing constantly, nausea
Belly button in or out? Out!
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time: About 50/50 finally feeling a little more settled here so not as stressed out lately at least. But still pretty emotional!
Looking forward to: Holding my little baby! Two months be gone already! Haha I'm so impatient.

My Yoga Journey

Hey there! So, I was bored the other day and started looking through all of my photos, when I came across my collection of Yoga pictures! Man did it make me miss Yoga like CRAZY!!! And it made me want to make a post of some of my favorite yoga pics!

MY YOGA JOURNEY:

I started practicing yoga on my own in March 2013 when I was inspired by a few ladies that I found on Instagram,
laurasykora and nayitavp  through them and many other Instagram yogis, I started teaching myself by finding new poses to learn through the Yoga Instagram community and online, and participating in challenges that many wonderful Yogis put on monthly. It was my favorite new hobby of choice, it helped me grow and learn about myself in so many ways, helped me make new friends,  and not to mention I truly feel like it transformed my body! I would definitely recommend trying Yoga to anyone out there who is wanting to start a new hobby, find out more about themselves, or find a fun new way of working out! To me one of the best things about Yoga is that your practice is 100% your own, you don't have to be perfect you just have to try.

Since I got pregnant in July last year I haven't been able to practice much yoga at all -- due to the fact that I could barely leave the couch if it wasn't to throw up, for close to 5 months straight! And now that i'm finally feeling better (or having better days at least) and all the holidays and moving stresses are over, I'm finding my pregnant belly gets in the way of much of what I can practice! So for now I've taken to walking/slow jogging on a treadmill a few times a week and doing what stretches and sequences I can manage with my foreign pregnant body!

I miss Yoga SO MUCH and can't wait to start it up again once my little guy is born!

*stay tuned: more to come about why I love Yoga in my next post!*

Here are a few of some of my favorite poses or pictures I took while practicing Yoga...

Scorpion Pose or Vrischikasana in Central Park ^

Side Crow or Parsva Bakasana (Central Park) ^

Crow Pose or Bakasana (Central Park) ^
*This picture picture has a good story behind it, you cant really tell but this was up on about a 5 ft. ledge that was maybe the width of my hand, AND it was raining that day so the ledge was super slippery! While trying to get into this pose there were probably 10-12 tourists watching me, i'm sure just waiting for me to fall on my face! But I didn't! And even though I only held it for maybe 3 seconds before getting out of it I was proud I did it...and glad my face wasn't smashed :)

Side Crow extended variation (Parsva Bakasana) ^

King Pigeon Pose (Eka Pada Rajakapotasana) ^

Fallen Angel Pose (Devaduuta Panna Asana) ^

Backbend

 Wheel Pose (Dhanurasana) ^

Flying Lizard Pose (Uttana Prasithasana) ^

 Firefly pose (Tittibhasana) ^

Dancers Pose (Natarajasana) ^

*Bonus* When you can rope your hubby into doing some Acro Yoga with you! Something fun for you to do together and a real bonding experience! :)
